General course design
We aim to offer both to our guest students from Chinese partner universities: a profound introduction to European integration and specialization on key aspects of the European Union. Therefore we invite interested to students to apply for one of the four specialized modules on: The Member States of the European Union; The EU in International Affairs; European Economic Affairs; The EU's Area of Freedom, Security and Justice.
Having been assigned to one of these modules, students will start by learning more on the history of the European integration process followed by an introduction to the EU's institutional architecture including decision-making procedures and European law. Moreover, seminar sessions will be devoted to the EU's role and competences in key policy areas such as the single market, the common currency area, foreign and security policy as well as justice and home affairs.
Though all modules cover these key topics of European integration, the courses diverge with regard to the remaining sessions that will shed light on their respective, specialized agenda.
